🚀Getting Started
What is True Calendar?
True Calendar is an unofficial fan companion for the 2026 World Football. It covers all 39 days, 104 matches, 48 nations, and 16 host cities, with every kickoff automatically converted to your local timezone. Pick your favorite team, get goal alerts in under 3 seconds, and never miss a match.
Note: the app is not affiliated with FIFA.
How do I set up the app for the first time?
Onboarding takes under a minute. After the splash screen you will: (1) choose your language and country, (2) pick your favorite team(s), and (3) decide whether to allow push notifications. You then land on the Schedule screen, ready to go.
Do I need to create an account or sign in?
No. There is no account, login, or password required. Your preferences and favorites are stored on your device and backed up via iCloud, so you can start using the app immediately.
Is the app free?
Yes. True Calendar is free and ad-supported. You can optionally remove ads forever with a one-time $2.99 purchase (see Billing & Remove Ads below).
⚡Core Features
How does the timezone conversion work?
Every match time is automatically localized to your device's timezone, so you always see the real kickoff time where you are - no manual conversion required.
How do I follow my favorite team?
Pick a team during onboarding, or change it anytime in Settings → My Teams. You can follow up to 5 teams. Your favorites appear as a pinned section at the top of the Schedule screen for one-tap access, and your alerts are tailored to those teams.
What kinds of notifications can I get?
There are three main alert types:
- 15-minute kickoff reminder - so you never miss the whistle.
- Goal alerts in under 3 seconds - from the pitch to your phone almost instantly.
- Red cards + starting XI - lineups delivered roughly one hour before kickoff.
Can I choose which notifications I receive?
Yes. Go to Settings → Notifications for granular control. You can turn each alert type on or off independently and customize them per team.
What is the difference between Pre-match, Live, and Recap views?
Each match page adapts to the game's status. Before kickoff you see the Pre-match Briefing (head-to-head, form, countdown, and Add to Calendar). At kickoff it automatically switches to the Live Summary with a sticky scoreline, possession bar, and recent events. After the final whistle it becomes the Post-Match Recap.
Are match statistics free?
Yes. All stats - including the xG sparkline, shot map, heatmap, and top performers - are free for everyone, with no paywall.
Can I see the groups and knockout bracket?
Yes. The Groups section shows standings, and the Bracket view maps the path from Round of 32 to the Final. Knockout slots that are not yet decided show as TBD until the brackets resolve.
Is there a World Football history section?
Yes. The World Football History almanac covers all 22 editions, with detail pages for champions, iconic moments, brackets, and Golden Boot winners. You can filter by era, champion, host continent, or iconic editions.
📅Calendar, Widgets & Wallet
Can I add matches to my phone's calendar?
Yes. On any match's Pre-match page, tap Add to Calendar. You can also do a Bulk Add to import multiple matches at once, configurable in Settings → Calendar.
What are Live Activities and Dynamic Island support?
When a followed match is live, the score and key events appear on your Lock Screen as a Live Activity and in the Dynamic Island (on supported iPhones), so you can glance at the game without opening the app.
What is the Apple Wallet feature?
You can add a match to Apple Wallet to get a ticket-style pass on your Lock Screen with team colors - a quick visual reminder for upcoming games.
💳Billing & Remove Ads
How do I remove ads?
Tap any ad banner CTA or go to Settings → Remove Ads to open the paywall, then complete the purchase. Once processed, all ads are removed permanently.
Is Remove Ads a subscription?
No. It is a one-time, non-consumable purchase of $2.99 - no subscription, no recurring charges, no renewals. You pay once and ads are gone forever.
I bought Remove Ads but ads are back. How do I fix this?
Go to the paywall and tap Restore Purchase. This re-applies your entitlement using your Apple ID - useful after reinstalling the app or switching devices. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy.
🔧Troubleshooting
I'm not receiving any notifications. What should I check?
Work through these steps:
- In the app, open Settings → Notifications and confirm your alert types are enabled.
- Confirm you have selected at least one favorite team - alerts are tied to your teams.
- In your iPhone's Settings → Notifications → True Calendar, make sure system notifications are allowed.
- If you tapped "Later" during onboarding, re-enable permission from the app's notification settings.
A goal alert or score looks delayed or wrong. Why?
Live data depends on your internet connection. On a weak or unstable network, alerts and scores may lag. Reconnect to a stable network and reopen the match to refresh.
The app shows "Offline" or won't load data.
This means the app cannot reach the live data feed. Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data, then pull to refresh. Static content like the schedule and history remains viewable offline.
A match shows TBD instead of teams. Is that a bug?
No. TBD appears for knockout fixtures whose teams have not been determined yet. Once the relevant group stage or bracket round finishes, the matchup updates automatically.
My favorite teams disappeared after reinstalling.
Favorites are synced via iCloud. Make sure you are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID and that iCloud sync is enabled. Your teams should reappear shortly after.
My times look wrong.
The app uses your device's timezone. If times seem off, check that your iPhone's date, time, and timezone are set to automatic in iOS Settings, then reopen the app.
🛡️About & Privacy
Is this an official FIFA app?
No. True Calendar is an independent, unofficial fan companion and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA or any official World Football body.
What happens to the app after the tournament?
The app is built to carry forward. Future editions can swap in new tournament data (such as upcoming continental cups) within the same app, so your setup carries over.
Where can I find privacy and legal information?
Open Settings → Privacy & Legal in the app for the full privacy policy and legal details, or visit our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages.
